签推荐信之前的准备：
1）要把信封准备好，用双面胶先把信封贴一面。到时候贴信封时，就会省不少时间。
2）推荐表中，把需要推荐人签字或打分的地方，用小黄即时贴贴一下，到时候签字的时候，就能直接找到这些需要签字的地方了。省得手忙脚乱漏掉一些地方。
定义：
我没查字典，顾名思义，一个人被另一个人推荐去做某件事情而写的信函，是一种应用文的文体。
什么地方会用到推荐信：
据我了解，从申请高中一直到博士，大部分美国学校都需要你提交推荐信，一般是在两三封左右(A4的纸大概一页半至两页即可)，有利的推荐信是录取时考量的重要因素之一，它的好坏直接关系到你是否可以申请到奖学金，甚至是否可以出国留学，因此推荐信在你的申请材料中的地位是举足轻重的。
由谁来写推荐信：
一般来说，如果申请美国的高中或者大学，给你写推荐信的就是你的班主任、数学、英语老师；申请研究生和博士的话，一般就是你的班主任、专业课老师或者导师等；如果你是已毕业的人事，可以请你的领导来写（总之，就是尽量选择真正和你有过密切接触；熟悉你的综合能力、学习水平；真正欣赏你；能够突出你的个人特性和关键品质的人来写你的推荐信，而非选择官衔越高的领导或者越出名的学者、教授，因为美国的学校更青睐细节的东西，更青睐有力的证明人与材料）
推荐信包括内容：
一封推荐信除了信头、发信日期、收信人姓名、称呼、信尾谦称、签名、推荐人姓名、职务等必需部分之外，正文内容说明应包括：
被推荐者的签名——被推荐者的签名仅写“Mr. Wang”或“Miss Zhang” 是不行的。需要用汉语拼音全称或英文拼法都可以，但必须由被推荐者本人提供，且前后必须一致。
推荐人认识被推荐者的时间(How long have you known him/her)——何时开始认识，或认识了多久。
认识程度(How well do you know him/her)——是偶尔见面还是关系密切，或仅教过一年还是担任其导师。
与被推荐人的关系(Relationship)——师生关系，上、下级领导关系等。
被推荐人的表现(Performance)——学习、生活上、课堂和课外活动上的表现等。
结论意见——愿意推荐或不愿意推荐，无保留或有所保留的推荐、普通推荐或极力推荐，必须明确，当然极力推荐为最好。以上六项是任何一封推荐信所必须包括的，缺其中任意一项则都会失去其应有的功能或会大大降低推荐的效果。

写作结构
第一段： 推荐人与申请人的关系。 推荐人是在什么环境下认识申请人，以及相识多久。 申请人希望申请的哪一个学期和科系。
第二段： 推荐人对申请人资格评估。 推荐人初识申请人时，对他有何特别的印象。 举例证实推荐人对于申请人的评估结果。
第三段： 对于申请人个人特质的评估（如：沟通能力、成熟度、抱负、领导能力、团队工作能力，以及正直等），或是有哪些需要改进的地方。
结论： 推荐人对于申请人的整体评估。评估申请人完成学业以后，未来在个人和专业上的发展。
申请人会为这个科系及团体带来什么贡献。
