① persist vi.1、坚持，固执（in ）；2、持续，存留

② ultimate a.最后的，最终的
We don’t know the ultimate result.
我不知道最终的结果。
Whether the universe has ultimate limits is still a question.
宇宙有无极限仍然是个有争议的问题。
His ultimate goal is too distant and shadowy to obtain.
他的最终目标太遥远，又太模糊，难以实现。
③ conquer vt.征服，战胜
Man can conquer nature.
人定胜天。
It is very difficult to conquer the cigarette habit.
烟很难戒掉。
vi.得胜，胜利
Despite their diffierences, their love w ill conquer.

It’s really a tough job to distinguish between these subtle differences of meaning.
把这些词义的细微差别区分开来确实是件很难办的事。 How do you distinguish between various species of deer? 你怎样区分不同种类的鹿？
二、常考句型
1、电脑能减少生命研究中的很多死胡同。P2

注意本句的倒装形式。并且注意“connect … to ”表示“把… 与…连接起来”。
