The city of Wuxi is going to hold at least ten sporting events in 2009.
In April, the fixed1 events are the 11th National Games Baseball Pre-liminaries, the National Baseball League Match, the International Race Walking Invitational Tournament and the International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament.
In May, the International Youth Tennis Ranking Tournament and the World Snooker Elite Tournament will be held.
In June, ITF International Men’s Tennis Tournament is to kick off2.
In July, the National Archery Tournament will be held.
In September, there will be Water-skiing World Cup China Leg.
In December, the 19th World Women’s Handball Tournament is set to be held.
Besides the above events, the 10th City Sports Meet will be held from April to October, and about 12,000 athletes3 will take part in 18 sports and 72 events.
Also in early May, a Sports Lottery Carnival4 will be held in the city.
