一、概况
如果你是因为以下(任意)原因来英国，你可以申请标准访问签证：
1.休闲，如假期出游、来英国走亲访友;
2.因商，或为了参加体育运动、出席重大场合;
3.其它原因，如接受私人治疗。
如果你来自欧洲经济区和瑞士以外的国家(地区)，核实好你否是需要标准访问签证。
如果你有英国居住权(比如你是英国人)，你的申请将不会被接受，且不退款。这时你需要申请居留权证明书。
标准访问签证已代替以下签证：
1.家庭访问签证;
2.一般访问签证;
3.儿童访问签证;
4.商业访问签证，包括学术、医生、牙医等签证;
5.体育运动访问签证;
6.演艺者访问签证;
7.准企业家签证;
8.私人医疗访问签证;
9.受批准的旅游目的地国家签证。
商业访问
如果是因为商业相关活动访问英国，你可以申请标准访问签证，比如：
1.来英国参加专题讨论会、一般会议或培训;
2.你想参加某个体育相关的活动;
3.你是艺术家、演员、来英国演出的音乐家;
4.你是学者，来英国做研究，或陪同学生参加海外学习项目;
5.你是医生或牙医，来英国参加临床实践或者观察;
6.你想来英国参加专业和语言评估委员会考试(PLAB)，或者参加客观结构化临床考核(OSCE);
7.你想来英国筹资，创业，或接管经营某项生意。
你可以或不可以做什么
持标准访问签证你可以：
1.在符合访问要求的前提下参加任何商业相关活动;
2.参加不30天(含)以内的学习，只要学习不是你访问英国的主要理由;
3.参与交换项目或教育参观(要求你未满18周岁);
4.将你和他人的民事伴侣关系专为婚姻关系;
你不可以：
1.参加工作(有偿无偿都不可以);
2.以频繁访问的方式长期住在英国;
3.得到公共基金;
4.登记民事伴侣关系，或发布结婚或民事伴侣公告;
办标准访问签证需要多久
在你访问英国的前三个月可以申请。最早提前三个月。
比如，你计划6月15日来英国，3月16日就可以申请。
申请完成后的3周内出结果。
你可以在英国待多久
通常最多可以待6个月。
属于下列任意情况，你可以待得更久：
1.你来英国接受私人治疗，可待到11个月;
2.你是学者，在公休年来英国做研究，你和你的配偶或民事伴侣可以在英国待到12个月;
属于上述任意情况，在英国待6个月以上的，需要申请生物居留准许(biometric residence permit)。
如果你属于受批准的旅游目的地国家签证的旅客，你可以持访问签证在英国待到30天。
长期访问签证
如果你能证明你需要在较长的时间段内频繁出访英国，你可以申请有效期为2年、5年或10年的签证。此类签证允许你每次出访待到6个月。
如果申请时你未满18周岁，在你满18周岁后，你的长期访问签证有效期最多只能再持续6个月。
申请费用
标准访问签证的申请需要87英镑。
长期访问签证的申请费用取决于有效期：
1.有效期2年330英镑;
2.有效期5年600英镑;
3.有效期10年752英镑;
二、申请资格
你必须表明：
1.访问结束后你将离开英国;
2.旅行之间你支付得起你自己和其他家属的生活费用;
3.支付得起回国旅费，以及任何与访问相关的开销;
4.根据旅客条例，需出示来英国参加活动证明。
如果你申请的是长期访问签证
你必须证明：
1.你今后需要频繁出访英国;
2.在访问签证有效期内，你是出于同一原因出访英国;
3.访问结束后你将离开英国;
如果不按照上述要求做，你将收到有效期比你要求的更短的签证。如果收到了此类签证，或者申请被拒绝，你将不能享受申请退款。
如果旅行记录显示你多次在英国延期居留，你的签证可能被取消或你不能申请长期访问签证。
如果你是以学者身份申请签证
如果你是以学者身份申请签证，你可以在英国待12个月。你需要证明自己在专业领域高度合格，出于公休期，且访问目的属于以下：
1.参加英国同等水平研究机构的交换项目;
2.来英国做研究;
3.参加别人的研究、教学或临床实践只要不涉及永久教师职务表的填写。
如果你是出于接受私人治疗申请签证
你必须证明：
1.身体状况不适，需要来英国私人咨询或接受治疗;
2.已为私人咨询或接受治疗做好准备，或已经付费;
3.支付得起医疗费、生活费和回国旅费，不需要借助公共基金;
4.治疗结束或签证到期后离开英国;
5.如果有传染病，如麻风病，需不威胁到公共健康。
如果你是以器官捐献者的身份申请签证
你在英国只能将器官捐献给以下人员：
1.与你有血缘关系的家人，如你的兄弟姐妹、父母;
2.某个你与之有亲密私人关系的人，如你的配偶、朋友;
你需要证明你的捐献对象在英国有权利接受你的捐献。
三、所需材料
申请标准访问签证的时候你需要提供：
1.当前护照或其他有效旅行证件;
2.表明你有钱支持你在英国期间的生活费的证据，如过去6个月的银行申明、工资单。
护照上需有为签证准备的空白页(双面)。护照在你的整个访问期间需有效。
原件语言不是英语和威尔士语的，你还需要提供相应的得到认证的翻译。
如果属于下列情况，你可能还需要提供其他证件：
1.来英国接受私人治疗;
2.以器官捐献者的身份申请签证;
3.公休期学者，想在英国待一年;
4.准企业家;
5.来英国参加专业和语言评估委员会考试(PLAB)，或者参加客观结构化临床考核(OSCE)。
在哪里发送证件
申请的时候会告诉你在哪里发送。
申请时你所提交的任何原件都会返还给你。
其他你需要的信息
你需要提供以下信息：
1.计划来英国的日期;
2.访问期间你在英国的住址的详细信息;
3.你认为此次旅行将花多少钱;
4.你目前的住所地址以及你住的时间;
5.你父母的名字的出生日期;
6.你的年薪;
你可能还需要提供：
1.过去10年的旅行记录(护照上面有显示);
2.你的旅伴(配偶)的名字、出生日期、护照号码;
3.支付你的旅费的人的名字和住址;
4.你在英国的家人(有的话)的名字、住址、护照号码;
5.犯罪、民事违法或非法入境的详细信息。
四、未成年人申请
如果你未如满18周岁，且符合以下条件，你可以申请标准访问签证：
1.你已做好来英国和在英国驻留的准备;
2.你已得到父母或监护人的准许，允许你来英国;
3.你付得起回国旅费;
4.你有钱支付得起生活费，无需工作或求助于公共基金，或者你有家人朋友帮你;
一个人去英国
你可以一个来英国，不用成年人(18周岁以上)陪伴。
你的父母或监护人需提供你来英国的书面同意书，以及你和他们沟通的详细信息。
父母或监护人还需提供你在英国期间有适合住宿的证明，包括：
1.你身边人(室友)的名字和出生日期;
2.你在英国的住址;
3.关于你和在英国照顾你的人的关系的详细信息;
4.在英国期间你父母或监护人可以照顾你的书面同意书。
有人陪伴去英国
如果有成年人(18周岁及以上)陪伴你来英国的，你需要在签证申请中说明。
如果陪伴你来英国的人不是你的父母，你需要在申请中提供陪伴人的详细信息。
陪伴人的名字要出现在你的签证上;如果到英国时身边没有陪伴人，你将不能进入英国。
签证申请中可含2个陪伴人;来英国时需至少有一人陪伴签证方能生效。
陪伴人同时可以申请签证，但需是陪伴人本人申请。
五、申请流程
在英国以外的国家(地区)申请
在线填写签证申请表。
你需要在签证申请中心录指纹、提交照片(以获居留许可)，作为申请的一部分。

在英国申请
如果你已经在英国你可能可以延长签证。
在朝鲜申请
如果你居住在朝鲜，不能线上申请签证。
在朝鲜申请需要：
1.下载申请表和申请指南;
2.阅读申请说明。
六、延长签证
只要你在英国待的时间总共不到6个月，你将可以延长签证。比如，你申请3个月的签证，你可以再延长3个月。
你应该在当前签证到期之前申请延长。
如果你正在英国接受私人治疗
属于以下情况，你可以申请延长6个月：
1.已为在英国接受的任何治疗付费;
2.支付得起并且愿意支付进一步的医疗费;
3.仍旧满足申请资格要求。
你还必须医师或NHS顾问，他们在英国注册，提供有：
1.你私人咨询或接受治疗的证明;
2.说明你进一步的治疗大概花多长时间的信;
3.治疗进度(如果已经开始治疗)的详细信息。
延期签证申请资格
延期签证需要在英国申请。
如何延长签证

邮政申请费用811英镑，优质服务申请费用1311英镑。
延长签证申请需要多久
邮政申请8周内出结果，优质服务申请当天出结果。
如遇以下情况，你会被告知申请结果延期：
1.提交的材料有待核实;
2.需参加面谈;
3.个人原因(如有刑事定罪)。
申请完毕，你可以在英国等待结果，只要你是在签证到期之前申请。
1. Overview
You can apply for a Standard Visitor visa if you want to visit the UK:
for leisure, eg on holiday or to see your family and friends for business, or to take part in sports or creative events for another reason, eg to receive private medical treatment Check if you need this visa if youre from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.
Your application wont be accepted and you wont get a refund if you have the right of abode in the UK (eg youre a British citizen). You need to apply for a certificate of entitlement instead.
The Standard Visitor visa has replaced the:
Family Visitor visa General Visitor visa Child Visitor visa Business Visitor visa, including visas for academics, doctors and dentists Sports Visitor visa Entertainer Visitor visa Prospective Entrepreneur visa Private Medical Treatment Visitor visa Approved Destination Status (ADS) visa If you visit the UK on business
You can apply for a Standard Visitor visa if you want to visit the UK for business-related activities, eg:
youre coming to the UK for a conference, meeting or training you want to take part in a specific sports-related event youre an artist, entertainer or musician and coming to the UK to perform youre an academic and are doing research or accompanying students on a study abroad programme youre a doctor or dentist and are coming to the UK to take a clinical attachment or observer post you want to take the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) test or sit the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) you want to get funding to start, take over, join or run a business in the UK What you can and cant do
You can:
take part in any of the business-related activities mentioned in the Visitor Rules study for up to 30 days, as long as its not the main reason for your visit take part in an exchange programme or educational visit (if youre under 18) convert your civil partnership into a marriage You cant:
do paid or unpaid work live in the UK for long periods of time through frequent visits get public funds marry or register a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership How long it will take
The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel.
Example
You can apply from 16 March if you plan to travel on 15 June.
You should get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.

How long you can stay
You can usually stay in the UK for up to 6 months.
You might be able to stay for longer if:
youre coming to the UK for private medical treatment - up to 11 months youre an academic on sabbatical and coming to the UK for research - you, your spouse or civil partner may be able to stay for up to 12 months
If youre staying in the UK as an academic or to receive private medical treatment for longer than 6 months, you must apply for a biometric residence permit. You might be able to get a visit visa for up to 30 days if youre a visitor under the Approved Destination Status (ADS) Agreement.
Long-term visit visas
If you can prove you need to visit the UK regularly over a longer period, you can apply for a visa that lasts 2, 5 or 10 years. You can stay for a maximum of 6 months on each visit.
If youre under 18 years old when you apply, your long-term visit visa will only be valid for up to 6 months after you turn 18.
Fees
A Standard Visitor visa costs 87.
The fee for a long-term visit visa depends on its length:
2 years - 330 5 years - 600 10 years - 752 2. Eligibility
You must always show that:
youll leave the UK at the end of your visit youre able to support yourself and any dependents for the duration of your trip youre able to pay for your return or onward journey and any other costs relating to your visit you have proof of any business or other activities you want to do in the UK, as allowed by the Visitor Rules If youre applying for a long-term visit visa
You must prove that:
you have a frequent and ongoing need to come to the UK the reason why you need to come to the UK is unlikely to change while your visitor visa is valid you plan to leave the UK at the end of each visit You may be given a visa for a shorter period than requested if you dont do this. You wont get a refund of the application fee if you get a shorter visa or your application is refused.
Your visa may be cancelled and you may get a long-term ban on visiting if your travel history shows youre repeatedly living in the UK for extended periods.
If youre applying as an academic
You can stay in the UK for 12 months if youre applying as an academic. You must prove youre highly qualified within your field of expertise, on sabbatical leave from your home institution and visiting to either:
take part in a formal exchange with a UK counterpart carry out your own research take part in someone elses research, teaching or clinical practice - as long as this doesnt involve filling a permanent teaching post If youre applying to visit for private medical treatment
You must prove that you:
have a medical condition that needs private consultation or treatment in the UK have made or paid for arrangements for consultations or treatment have enough money to pay for your treatment, support yourself without using public funds and pay for your return or onward journey will leave the UK once your treatment is completed, or when your visa expires are not a danger to public health if youre suffering from an infectious disease, eg leprosy If youre applying as an organ donor
You can only visit the UK to donate organs to:
a family member who youre genetically related to (eg your sibling or parent) someone you have a close personal relationship with (eg your spouse or friend) You must prove that the person youre donating an organ to is legally allowed to be in the UK.
3. Documents you must provide
When you apply youll need to provide:
a current passport or other valid travel identification evidence that you can support yourself during your trip, eg bank statements or payslips from the last 6 months You need a page in your passport thats blank on both sides for your visa. Your passport must be valid for the whole of your stay in the UK.
Youll also need to provide a certified translation of any documents that arent in English or Welsh.
You might need to provide additional documents if youre visiting the UK:
for private medical treatment to apply as an organ donor as an academic on sabbatical and want to stay for 12 months as a prospective entrepreneur to take the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) test or sit the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Where to send your documents
Youll be told where to send your documents when you apply.
Any original documents you submit as part of your application will be sent back to you.
Other information youll need
Youll need to provide the following:
the dates youre planning to travel to the UK details of where youll be staying during your visit how much you think your trip will cost your current home address and how long youve lived there your parents names and dates of birth how much you earn in a year You might also need:
details of your travel history for the past 10 years (as shown in your passport) your employers address and telephone number your partners name, date of birth, and passport number the name and address of anyone paying for your trip the name, address and passport number of any family members you have in the UK details of any criminal, civil or immigration offences you have committed 4. If you're under 18
You can apply for a standard visitor visa if youre under 18 and:
youve made suitable arrangements for your travel and stay in the UK you have consent from your parent or guardian to travel to the UK youre able to pay for your return or onward journey you have enough money to support yourself without working or getting help from public funds, or you have family and friends that can support you Travelling alone
You can travel to the UK without an adult (someone over the age of 18).
Your parent or guardian will need to provide their:
written consent for you to travel to the UK full contact details Theyll also need to provide proof that you have somewhere suitable to live during your stay in the UK, including:
the name and date of birth of the person that you will be staying with an address where you will be living details of your relationship to the person wholl be looking after you consent in writing so they can look after you during your stay in the UK Travelling with an adult
When travelling to the UK with an adult (someone over the age of 18), youll need to identify them in your visa application.
If the person youre travelling with isnt your parent, youll need to provide specific information about them in your application.
Their name will appear on your visa, and youll be refused entry to the UK if you arrive in the UK without them.
You can identify up to 2 adults in your visa application, and your visa will only be valid if you travel with at least one of them.
The adult can apply for a visa at the same time, but you must each complete separate applications.
5. Apply
Apply from outside the UK online
Fill in the visa application form online.
Youll need to have your fingerprints and photograph (known as biometric information) taken at a visa application centre as part of your application.
You may be able to get your visa faster or other services depending on what country youre in - check with your visa application centre.
Apply from within the UK
You might be able to extend your visa if youre already in the UK.
Apply from North Korea
You cant apply online if youre from North Korea. You must instead:
download the form and guidance read the instructions on how to apply 6. Extend your visa
You may be able to extend your visa as long as the total time you spend in the UK is less than 6 months - eg if you apply for a 3 month visa, you can apply to extend it for 3 more months.
Read the guidance to find out if you can extend your visa.
You should apply before your current visa expires.
If youre receiving private medical treatment in the UK
You can apply to extend your visa for a further 6 months if you:
have paid for any treatment youve already had in the UK can and will pay the further costs of your treatment continue to meet the eligibility requirements You must also get a medical practitioner or NHS consultant whos registered in the UK to provide:
proof of arrangements for your private medical consultation or treatment a letter saying how long your treatment is likely to take details of the progress of your treatment, if its already started Eligibility
You must apply while youre still in the UK.
How to extend your visa
You can:

A decision will be made:
within 8 weeks for postal applications usually on the same day if you use the premium service Youll be contacted if your application is complex and will take longer, eg:
if your supporting documents need to be verified if you need to attend an interview because of your personal circumstances (for example if you have a criminal conviction) Once youve applied you can stay in the UK until youve been given a decision, as long as you applied before your last visa expired.
